Wonderful family run restaurant! Very clean and well run, they're welcoming from the moment you walk in. Service is excellent, we dined here for breakfast, which was fantastic. We really enjoyed the French sausage as well as omelette, do not miss out on their fresh bread. Wonderful dining option in the area, we will have to come back and try their dinner next time!
I celebrated my birthday at this little French restaurant with close friends. The food was delicious! We ordered steak and fries. There was a little hiccup with the online reservation, but they still served us. Excellent customer service and a great wine selection! The baguette and butter were to die for! Thank you for the free birthday dessert! There's street parking available, parking garage with a fee, and an open parking lot beside it.
TLDR: delish, homey, attentive, eat & enjoy ASAP... It feels only fair to share our (my wife and I) experience, and that of the couple next to us (arty, older couple). We love Deux, it's Valentines Day, and it's busy but well managed. We start with Baguette & shallot butter(surprisingly delish), an Endive Salad with Pear, Bleu Cheese & Pomagranates, a glass of Sancerre from Loire (perfect) and a bottle of Iconoclast Gamay. We're delighted by each, on our way to a perfect v-day. They order a bottle of Champagne, and immediately complain it's not cold enough, send back her French onion soup for not being hot enough, then complain that is mostly bread and cheese - a comment my joyously wine-buzzed wife belatedly responded to with "b$&ch what?! That's the point!" But I digress. Our mains were splendid. A fall off the fork pepper-encrusted filet & gratin dauphinois, perfectly cooked and complimented trout almandine with haricot verte and what can only be described as "garlic candies" that added to each bite. Our neighbors continued to critique, the waiter met their every whim with attentiveness and immediate solution. Their 3 little bears pretension complimented with a consistent dialogue of comparison to French bistros and other dining experiences. Fair to compare, but they struck me as people who nag for sport, not much else eavesdropped in our 90 min of cohabitation. At this point we were so happy with our meal, our neighbors faded into the low lit, homey ambiance. After the check, I asked for an espresso, and was given one swiftly & complimentary, a final touch of the welcoming & attentive atmosphere of Deux. "I just pulled a quick shot, it's on us, have a great night." So here, a tale of two dinners: They critique & complain, we delight & savor. The staff handled both seamlessly with attention, respect and charm. Service is a focus, you can tell the minute you step inside. The food is consistently delicious, nostalgic for anyone who's spent time in France, with a local comfort not found in many other spots in Woodland Hills. Thank you for a perfect start to a delightful evening. No photos, we were too busy enjoying...
Wow! Drove by this place so many times! Decided to give it a try for a date night with the Girlfriend. The Service was excellent! The male server explained everything and made sure everything was good! We tried the French onion soup! Really good. Olives were very good. The bread was nice! Nice wine selection as well. Very tasty red. Gotta come back and try more of their food!
Who would've known we had this gem just down the street from us! So glad we tried it. Street parking but we didn't have an issue on a Saturday night. Everyone was so nice and welcoming! Small place but does have outside seating which I'm sure is so nice to sit at during the summer. We had the French onion soup which was so flavorful, and I liked it cause the onions were chopped up. We also had the brisket and the steak frites, the steak was tender and the sauce on top was delicious. And then we had to get the crème brûlée for dessert and we were so glad we did. Definitely want to come back!
Enjoyed my dinner at Deux Bistro which I've been really looking forward to trying since it changed. I enjoyed it before but now it's a little more upscale. Perfect service. Wonderful food. A good crowd. I ordered one of the specials a scallop dish, mashed potatoes and crème brûlée. Also ordered a bottle of white wine. Everything was superb. Happy to have this new local spot.
This is from my visit a few months ago. I'd rate this 4.25 or 4.5 if Yelp let me as it was very good. The food is very good and comforting. Even the baguette was great, as it was right out of the oven with whipped butter with what I believe is chicken cracklin' on top. I really wanted the duck (on their online menu) and brought a wine I thought would pair nicely with it, but they were out (so, I'll call ahead next time), so I got the chicken, which ended up being great. I was in France earlier this year and this food reminded me of the good bistro food in France and was just as good as a lot of the non-fine dining food we had there. The prices (including corkage) are reasonable and the portions are large. The service is warm and helpful. Really nice neighborhood gem and certainly worth a visit if you're dining in Woodland Hills.
My second time here It's a very warm and cozy restaurant with friendly staff. We loved the Sa Tete wine. The baguette The steak Fritz and pasta was great. Also Anahi and Alex were wonderful Very good service Highly recommended
Four of for dinner due to great yelp reviews. Always like to try new places. Reviews were spot on. Everything about our dinner was perfect, from the service, to the food. The owner made it even better by checking on the tables to make sure everyone was happy A great addition to the area. Great to see it very busy. Will definitely be back!
Really inviting room when you walk in, can hear the music in the background at a perfect level. We were excited to get a bottle of red wine and have some of food to pair. Here were the only two disappointing parts. One, the two person table looks cool but not easy to actually have a meal because of its small size. We ended up using two tables which defeats the purpose for the restaurant. Two, the entree menu was pretty small with no specials only for appetizers. Then at about 6:30 on a Friday we were told they were out of the short rib. Not the end of the world but that would go perfect with a nice red. Ended up getting the olives and beef tartare to start. I don't usually even comment on olives when I get them but these were good, and the oil was top notch, make sure to get to the bottom of the bowl. The steak tartare was also good with a nice hint of mustard. We then went with the steak frites, French onion soup, and had to default to the burger. Steak was cooked perfectly (med rare), nice thick piece, and good presentation. The French onion soup was well made which is not always easy to do. The burger patty was thick and tasty. The burger overall was good but wish they had an amp'd version with foie or bacon or something to add to make it "signature". Jonathan was great throughout the evening as was the rest of the staff, they were polite and really hustled.
